A former municipal cemetery opened in 1883 in Solln’s historic village centre.

Address and entrances
The plan marks the Friedhofweg entrance beside the viewing and ceremony building. Four burial sections divide the grounds; the urn wall is on the Buchauer Straße side.
Getting here by public transport
Bus 134 to Stridbeckstraße; Bus 63 to Plattlinger Straße.
Parking at the cemetery
Street parking is available on Buchauerstraße south of the cemetery. Continue to the entrance on Friedhofweg; use only the permitted side of the street and follow the signs.

Finding a grave
For help locating a deceased person, contact the central graves administration at sfm-grabsuche.gsr@muenchen.de or +49 89 2319901. Give the name and, if known, dates and cemetery. Research can take from ten minutes to four weeks.

Grave types and allocation
Earth graves, urn niches, vaults and mausoleums.
Allocation of grave rights
In the event of a current death and at least 20 continuous years of residence in the relevant burial district.
Resting period
Normally 10 years.
Costs and cemetery fees
An earth grave from the second row costs €84 per year. Urn niches and vaults have separate tariffs. Grave-use fees are payable in advance for the full rest period; interment and ceremonies are additional.
Funeral dates and ceremonies
Munich Municipal Cemeteries arrange the interment date with the commissioning party. Administration at Waldfriedhof – Old Section is responsible for this cemetery and can clarify where mourners should meet.
Funeral hall and chapel
The cemetery building at the entrance is used for viewings and funeral ceremonies.
Grave care and local services
The grave-right holder is responsible for establishing and maintaining a traditional earth grave and may commission a cemetery gardener.
Urn niches need no individual gardening; personal grave decoration is not provided for.

History and distinctive features
Solln Cemetery was opened by the then independent municipality in 1883 and became part of Munich with Solln in 1938. A small building by the entrance is used for viewings and funeral services. Burial forms include earth graves, urn niches, vaults and mausoleums, with a standard resting period of ten years. The district cemetery is not permanently staffed and is administered from the old section of Waldfriedhof.
