Address and entrances
Entrances are on Stadelheimer Straße, Schwanseestraße and Lincolnstraße. The administration and funeral hall are on the western side by Stadelheimer Straße.

Tram 18 to Schwanseestraße; Bus 139 to Schwanseestraße.
Parking at the cemetery
A publicly accessible car park is on Schwanseestraße near Stadelheimer Straße, at the cemetery’s north-eastern edge. It serves the approach from Schwanseestraße; follow the signs on site.

Finding a grave
For help locating a deceased person, contact the central graves administration at sfm-grabsuche.gsr@muenchen.de or +49 89 2319901. Give the name and, if known, dates and cemetery. Research can take from ten minutes to four weeks.

Costs and cemetery fees
An earth grave from the second row costs €84 per year; an urn earth grave from the second row costs €59 per year. Grave-use fees are payable in advance for the full rest period; interment, ceremonies and other services are additional.

Munich Municipal Cemeteries arrange the interment date with the commissioning party. Administration at Perlacher Forst Cemetery is responsible for this cemetery and can clarify where mourners should meet.
Funeral hall and chapel
Alongside the funeral hall, a farewell room designed by Brigitte Schwacke is available. It can also accommodate funeral ceremonies for groups of up to 15 people.
Grave care and local services
The grave-right holder is responsible for establishing and maintaining a traditional earth or urn-earth grave and may commission a cemetery gardener.
Urn niches need no individual gardening; personal grave decoration is not provided for. For urn graves with framing planting, the city maintains the planting; this grave form does not provide for personal grave decoration.
Accessibility and facilities
Loan wheelchairs and a transport service for older visitors are available. Contact the responsible administration to arrange their use. There is also a handcart loan station.

History and distinctive features
Perlacher Forst Cemetery was laid out in 1931 to plans by municipal architect Hermann Leitenstorfer. Its twelve-sided, 35-metre funeral hall in pale tuff recalls the scale originally planned for 100,000 graves. Mature trees and numerous hedges structure the extensive burial grounds. Hans and Sophie Scholl and other members of the White Rose are buried here, while several memorial groves commemorate victims of National Socialism.
