Parking at the cemetery
A section of Sankt-Martin-Straße near Germersheimer Straße has street parking. Other sections of Sankt-Martin-Straße have no-stopping restrictions or separate parking rules. Continue on foot along Sankt-Martin-Straße to the crematorium.

Finding a grave
For help locating a deceased person, contact the central graves administration at sfm-grabsuche.gsr@muenchen.de or +49 89 2319901. Give the name and, if known, dates and cemetery. Research can take from ten minutes to four weeks.

Allocation of grave rights
Available independently of residence, subject to a suitable grave right being available at the time.

Normally 10 years.
Costs and cemetery fees
An urn earth grave from the second row costs €59 per year. Urn-niche tariffs depend on their design, with a possible surcharge for specially designed areas. Grave-use fees are payable in advance for the full rest period; cremation, interment and ceremonies are separate costs.

Arrange cremation, farewell and ceremony appointments with the crematorium administration on +49 89 23199150. Cremation and the subsequent urn interment require separate planning.
Funeral hall and chapel
A step-free route through the meditation garden leads to the foyer, viewing rooms, private farewell room and heated funeral hall. Free streaming can be arranged on request for a private farewell.
Grave care and local services
The grave-right holder is responsible for establishing and maintaining a traditional urn-earth grave and may commission a cemetery gardener.
Accessibility and facilities
Loan wheelchairs and a transport service for older visitors are available. Contact the responsible administration to arrange their use.

History and distinctive features
The cemetery at Munich Crematorium is a separate urn cemetery within the eastern part of the larger Ostfriedhof. It provides urn graves and urn niches only; earth graves do not form part of this section. The new crematorium, completed in 2022, adjoins the historic funeral hall. Visitors reach both the burial ground and Munich’s central crematorium together at the same site on Sankt-Martin-Straße.
